At The Sheen Resistance we respect your privacy to the best of our ability. That means that we will not abuse or misuse the information you give us in any way. We won’t pass or sell your information to anyone, or give it to other companies or individuals. The only time we’ll email you is to inform you of events we’re putting on are or part of. Sheen Resistance privacy and cookies policy

General:

At The Sheen Resistance we are committed to safeguarding and preserving the privacy of our visitors. This privacy policy explains what happens to any personal data that you provide to us, or that we collect from you whilst you visit www.sheen-resistance.com (“Website”) and how we use cookies on this Website. We do update this policy from time to time so please do review this policy regularly albeit we will advise you of any update via email or pop-up on your next visit following any such update in any case.

Information that we collect:

  1. In running and maintaining our website we may collect and process the following data about you:
    Information about your use of our site including details of your visits such as pages viewed and the resources that you access. Such information includes traffic data, location data and other communication data.
  2. Information provided voluntarily by you. For example, when you register for information or purchase event tickets or products (including name, address, email address, location data).
  3. Information that you provide when you communicate with us by any means.

Email marketing

We use Campaign Monitor to send information to those on our mailing list. This is to inform you of future events that we are putting on or are involved with, or other information we feel you may be interested in. When you sign up to this list, we collect your name and your email address and nothing else. If you interact with one of these emails, we see your approximate location and which content you interact with. We include an unsubscribe button on every email which you are free to use at any time.

Occasionally we may receive information about you from other sources, for example from any third party websites, applications or sign-in services (such as Facebook or Twitter) that integrate or communicate with the website in relation to you.

In certain cases you will be required to indicate your consent to the processing of your information as set out in this privacy policy when you first submit such information to us.

Use of cookies:

Cookies provide information regarding the computer used by a visitor. We may use cookies where appropriate to gather information about your computer in order to assist us in improving our Website. We may gather information about your general internet use by using the cookie. Where used, these cookies are downloaded to your computer and stored on the computer’s hard drive. Such information will not identify you personally. It is statistical data which does not identify any personal details whatsoever. Use of your information:

From 25th May 2018, under applicable Data Protection Law we may only process your information if we have a “legal basis” (i.e. a legally permitted reason) for doing so. For the purposes of this privacy policy our legal basis for processing your information is based on the provision of your consent.

We use the information that we collect from you to provide our services to you. In addition to this we may use the information for one or more of the following purposes:

  1. To provide information to you that you request from us relating to our products, services, promotions, offers and competitions.
  2. To inform you of any changes to our website, services, events and products.
    We never give your details to third parties to use your data to enable them to provide you with information regarding unrelated goods or services.

In operating our website it may become necessary to transfer data that we collect from you to locations outside of the European Union for processing and storing. By providing your personal data to us, you agree to this transfer, storing and processing. We do our utmost to ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to make sure that your data is stored securely. Unfortunately the sending of information via the internet is not totally secure and on occasion such information can be intercepted. We cannot guarantee the security of data that you choose to send us electronically, so sending such information is entirely at your own risk.

How long will The Sheen Resistance keep my personal information?

We will hold your personal information on our systems until your registration is cancelled.

If you wish to cancel your website registration, your account will be deleted upon receipt of notification to cancel. One an account is deleted, personal information attaching to that account will not be used or processed by The Sheen Resistance, and will be deleted within one month of notification of account cancellation.

Where you contribute to a website, we will generally only keep your content for as long as is reasonably required for the purpose(s) for which it was submitted.

Disclosing your information:

We will not disclose your personal information to any other party other than in accordance with this privacy policy and in the circumstances detailed below:

  1. Where we are legally required by law to disclose your personal information.
  2. To further fraud protection and reduce the risk of fraud.

On occasion we may include links to third parties on our website. Where we provide a link it does not mean that we endorse or approve that site’s policy towards visitor privacy. You should review their privacy policy before sending them any personal data.

Photography

We frequently take photographs at our events for the purpose of marketing and promotion. These images are displayed on our website, our social media accounts, and may be supplied to the press. By attending our events, you give permission for your likeness to be used in this way. We will never identify you by name without your written permission, although you may be identified by third party comments or tags, for example on Facebook. If you attend one of these events, you agree to the use of photographs of you in this way.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. In the event of such update, you will be notified of such changes in summary form by email or via pop-up screen on your next visit to the Website.

Access to information

You have the right to request a copy of personal information The Sheen Resistance holds about you, and to have any inaccuracies corrected, under the Data Protection Act. We will request that you provide proof of your identity in the form of two items of approved photographic identification (eg a passport and drivers’ licence). We will use reasonable efforts to supply, correct or delete personal information about you on our files.
