Never Too Much was the title track and lead single from Luther’s 1981 debut solo album. It was his demos both for this song, and Sugar and Spice, that landed Vandross his record deal after an already successful stint as backing vocalist and arranger for the likes of David Bowie (Young Americans), Chic, Donna Summer, and Barbra Streisand among others.
