Performed live on the Dick Cavett show in 1974. This was at the tail end of the Diamond Dogs tour, during which he wrote and recorded the Young Americans album, so the touring band were essentially the band that played on the record. The tour never came to Europe, and was chronicled at the time in Alan Yentob’s excellent documentary for the BBC, ‘Cracked Actor’. Look out for a young Luther Vandross singing backups on the right. It was his work on the Young Americans album, along with his contribution to the beginnings of Chic that really launched his career.
